{"id":1686,"date":"2023-05-01T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/?p=1686"},"modified":"2023-07-12T00:24:32","modified_gmt":"2023-07-12T04:24:32","slug":"easy-house-cleaning-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/index.php\/2023\/05\/01\/easy-house-cleaning-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy House Cleaning Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes I feel like my house will never be clean.\u00a0 I pick things up one day and then the next day it looks like a bomb went off.\u00a0 I try to stick to this easy house cleaning plan though to keep things in somewhat decent shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My house I lived in when I was single was pretty much spotless.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t a cleaning freak but things were certainly organized and tidy.\u00a0 Then kids came into my life and all that changed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Clean?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First off, some people are just naturally more messy.\u00a0 My husband is one of those people who simply isn\u2019t bothered by socks on the floor or dirty dishes stacked by the sink.\u00a0 I, however, am the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having things organized helps give me peace of mind and lowers any stress or anxiety I might have.\u00a0 If my house is cluttered, then my brain feels cluttered.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Kitchen.jpeg\" alt=\"Easy House Cleaning Plan: Kitchen\" class=\"wp-image-1697\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Kitchen.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Kitchen-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Kitchen-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I am not saying to Marie Kondo your house as I am certainly not that level of organized.\u00a0 I like things picked up though and making sure everything has a place.\u00a0 <strong>With a rather messy family, I have learned to find the balance though and find a \u201csystem\u201d that works for us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Don\u2019t Set a Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I am an extreme planner that loves routine, but cleaning my house is the one place where that just doesn\u2019t work for me.\u00a0<\/strong> I have Googled easy plans for cleaning your house before and I have seen all these routines about what you should do each day, each week, annually, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By trying to achieve that level of house cleaning where I clean bathrooms every Tuesday or clean my kitchen every night, I set myself up for failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<center> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Stardrops-Miracle-Cleaning-Multi-Purpose-Bathroom\/dp\/B09NDZ7DNQ?crid=1EP8T5CVDA9IQ&#038;keywords=cleaning+gift+basket&#038;qid=1689135351&#038;sprefix=cleaning+gift+basket%2Caps%2C97&#038;sr=8-10&#038;linkCode=li3&#038;tag=makeaplanblog-20&#038;linkId=980c43e40bc6ccc03132e93bf99a70f2&#038;language=en_US&#038;ref_=as_li_ss_il\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" alt=\"the pink stuff cleaning supplies\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&#038;ASIN=B09NDZ7DNQ&#038;Format=_SL250_&#038;ID=AsinImage&#038;MarketPlace=US&#038;ServiceVersion=20070822&#038;WS=1&#038;tag=makeaplanblog-20&#038;language=en_US\" ><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=makeaplanblog-20&#038;language=en_US&#038;l=li3&#038;o=1&#038;a=B09NDZ7DNQ\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> <\/center>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tackle One Room at a Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is easiest for me to clean one room at a time.\u00a0 I otherwise find myself getting distracted and cleaning little things up as I go and never really feel accomplished.\u00a0 I like to start my focus on whichever room I spend most of my time in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For me, I almost always start with my kitchen, living room, and then make my way to my bedroom.\u00a0 Bathrooms are always dead last on my list (unless I have a guest coming over!).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Bathroom.jpeg\" alt=\"Easy House Cleaning Plan: Bathroom\" class=\"wp-image-1695\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Bathroom.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Bathroom-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/makeaplan.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Clean-Bathroom-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you have a room that is particularly daunting, start with that one when you feel most motivated to clean.<\/strong>\u00a0 Everything else will feel easy by comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Declutter First<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you know what room you want to tackle, identify what items you can see that can easily be picked up.\u00a0 I always start my house cleaning by doing a mass decluttering.\u00a0 This means picking up any trash, compiling toys or random socks, loading\/unloading the dishwasher, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t focus on deep cleaning at first, just getting rid of all the \u201cstuff\u201d.\u00a0 You will be amazed at what a difference picking a few things up can make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use the Stairs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I grew up this way and I am sure I&#8217;m not the only one who piles things on the stairs that are intended to go up and be put away. This essentially says that <strong>if the task takes one minute or less, do it now<\/strong>. They won&#8217;t do as good of a job as you would, but they are great for a maintenance option.  I love <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/41Go8LV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">this one<\/a> by Eufy that we got as a wedding gift. But, whenever we start tackling the tasks together we find a way to make it more fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we are working on something together, then he all of a sudden has no problem wiping down tables on our porch or sweeping the entire downstairs. To others, &#8220;deep cleaning&#8221; might mean being on your hands and knees to clean baseboards or moving the couch to clean behind it. In the spring, the pollen in North Carolina is insane so I am wiping down things outside very frequently.  I tend to clean out the fridge only when I realize I have no space left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The key for success is to not do all your deep cleaning at the same time.<\/strong>  It can drain you pretty quickly so pick one or two things to knock out when you feel motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So, this is the one time where I say throw out the plan or schedule and find a system, even if it is messy, that works for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Struggling to feel productive?
